Description:Excerpt from Feed Situation: June 1964Pasture conditions on May 1 were good to excellent over the eastern half of the country. However, local drought conditions prevailed in some areas of the Southwest and the Northern Plains. Pastures were much better than a year ago in the southern and the North Atlantic States. For the entire country, pastures on May 1 averaged 83 percent of normal, compared with 78 percent last year and 89 percent for 1958-62. The condition of hay cr0ps was also a little better than a year earlier and about equal to the 5-year average.
