The geograph ical position of the State, its warm and medium climate, its rich, warm, alluvial and productive soil, plentifully supplied with the very best of timber, living streams of pure running water, with an abundance of the very best building stone, and other material, with its valuable and unsurpassed block coal fields, give it a position and importance equalled by but few States in the Union. Our block coal is abundant, and has proven to be among the very best iron-making coal in the world. The railroad facilities for convenience, and their con necting nearly every county in the State with our State capi tol, and all important commercial points in the United States.
