As revised, the article aims to be an account of the Ohio Land Company's endeavors, together with some considerations of the place of that corporation in the history of the Westward Movement in the Colonies. The author is greatly indebted to Professor B. W. Bond of the University of Cincinnati, at whose suggestion the paper was undertaken; to Professor C. W. Alvord of the University of Illinois, for use of the map accompanying the paper; and to Miss L.
