Description:This is the coloring-book edition of "The Robin and the Sparrow," a book of eleven short poems that I wrote in 1996 to read with my older daughter, who was then three years old. I had all but forgotten the poems until I came across a printed copy in my scrapbook files. I found that I still enjoyed the poems, so I decided to publish them.In this edition, each of the eleven poems is accompanied by a ready-to-color drawing on the page opposite the poem. Also, there are two other editions of The "Robin and the Sparrow:" a full-color book, and a Kindle book. Tips for Coloring This Book:The Robin and the Sparrow comprises eleven illustrated poems. Each poem is on the left page, and each illustration is on the facing page, so each sheet of paper that has an illustration on one side has text on the other. The pages are not perforated, but I believe you will find it easy to open the book so that it lies flat.If you use Crayola pencils, use their set of fifty. This set gives you shades (such as sand and taupe) that you can use as flesh-tones for the six illustrations that depict people, and extra shades of blue, green and brown for the nature illustrations.Try coloring with your weak hand as well as your strong hand. This will give your strong hand a rest, improve your fine motor skills, and force your brain to learn new tricks. Coloring is a great way to put your weak hand to work.Sharpen carefully! If you push the pencil into the sharpener with too much force, the tip will get caught and break. Instead, insert the pencil into the sharpener and use your thumb to press the pencil against the side of the sharpener as you roll the pencil. This should give you a sharp tip without breaking the point.The Robin and the Sparrow is available in a full color edition, both in print and for the Kindle.
