Not only that, John had the “spirit and power” of Elijah who called down fire from heaven to kill 101 soldiers. But he didn’t call fire against his killers and didn’t run away like Elijah did when Jezebel almost killed him. These truths warranted a coroner’s inquest just like it's done naturally when VIPs die questionably. Inquest into John's death has been long overdue. So, I took up that responsibility, hence this book.Truly, John Baptist wasn’t an ordinary fellow! Instead, he was an iconic figure in God's spiritual scheme for the New Dispensation of God's kingdom. With that alone, he was expected to have died a more noble and honorable death, hence the need for a spiritual inquest of this calibration.While I'm not averse to martyrdom, there are people to whom God has given clear revelations about their deaths, and they know. Most of such revealed deaths are unrelated to martyrdom. For instance, Simeon was one man to whom it was revealed that he wouldn't die "had seen the Lord’s Christ.” Jesus, at a point, spoke in a way that was to help in “signifying by what death he should glorify God.” Whatever your opinion, and however you wish to die, ensure that your death glorifies God just like Jesus’ and those of the saints of God, including the martyrs.Though we're all expected to lay down our lives for the Gospel's sake if such a need arises, not everyone is meant for martyrdom! The Bible talks about martyrs in heaven who, in response to their cry for vengeance against those who murdered them, are told to wait “UNTIL THEIR FELLOWSERVANTS ALSO AND THEIR BRETHREN, THAT SHOULD BE KILLED AS THEY WERE, SHOULD BE FULFILLED.” Now, since it's the truth that we all MUST NOT be killed anyhow, it means that some of us CAN'T and WON'T die anyhow! But it calls for concern if and when such untoward deaths occur, as in the case of John Baptist, hence this spiritual inquest.My many years of asking questions about his death as to why he died the way he did brought the revelation which birthed this Inquest Report which has not only blessed my soul but has remained the secret of my being alive till today.
